Aveeno Moisturising Creamy Oil Review

Price: £7.15

The Review:
Alongside the bath and shower oil I thought I would buy a matching moisturiser that I can put on after the shower.

I don’t this to my face often as it is a bit oily and never boded well with needing to put make-up on afterwards but if I have days where I am not going out I will put it on my face and give it longer to absorb. They do have products which are designed for your face but I didn’t purchase any of them therefore cannot review them.

Again, this product like its pair smells amazing and the scent really lingers throughout the day. However it is not that brilliant at suppressing psoriasis patches. It does leave un-affected areas of the skin smooth and therefore does do what it is meant for. Sadly it is another product which is not a remedy for psoriasis!

If you do not have extensive patches and just wish to maintain your skin with a brilliant moisturiser, then Aveeno is definitely good. Just sadly not good enough for what I need it for.

The Results:
Price: 6/10 – still quite expensive, but a tiny bit cheaper than the bath and shower oil

Smell: 10/10 – it smells sweet and has a really lovely scent, the smell also lingers on your skin all day

Texture: 9/10 – spreads on the skin easily

Packaging: 8/10 – looks the same as the bath and shower oil and I like that symmetry with products

Time consumption: 8/10 – doesn’t take long to sink in but (for make-up wearers) I wouldn’t recommend putting it on your face if you are in a rush to get ready as you will have to wait a while to put make-up on and it doesn’t sit too well with it on either

Overall result: 5/10 - does what it says on the tin but sadly isn't a hidden psoriasis miracle

(Overall result if you just want to have a decent smelling moisturiser: 9/10 – love how it smells and makes your skin smooth, given it a 9 as I don’t like the effect it has on your face if you are in a rush to get ready)

If you have used any of the other Aveeno moisturiser products – let me know how they worked on your skin. J

  2. Hey Hector, hopefully something that I write will work well for you then. I honestly think you should try cutting out red meat and see if it makes a difference to your skin. I haven't eaten it for well over a month now and I am seeing a huge difference. Don't stop trying to tame your psoriasis, as once you find a way that works well for you then I'm sure your confidence will come back. We are all in the same boat though, I often feel beaten down by it. Always feel like you can comment/e-mail me! I will try, and make sure you take care of yourself as well!

  3. I used to use Aveeno, but i found something WAY better. They make both lotions and shampoos that are all natural and organic - and its better priced. Its called Made from Earth, and my mother (who is 65 but doesnt look a day over 39 cause she uses their firming serum). I started using the Firming Serum as well, and wow - major difference. I also tried their shampoo which leaves your hair feeling fresh, clean and manageable. Not only is the smell amazing, the smell lasts for several hours as well, but it leaves hair soft and easy to style.

  5. To go treatment in skin disease it will make your skin dry. I have mine pictures of psoriasis and my skin is really dry. Maybe this moisturizer could make it. I hope so.

  6. Moisturizer might be good but I was wondering if this is applicable as scalp psoriasis treatment.
